An education oriented experience where participants can see, work in, and “experience” schools for the children of Christian workers. You will have a chance to observe, help, and be involved in classrooms at Grace International School in Chiang Mai, and Chiang Rai International Christian School in Chiang Rai, Thailand.
Have you felt God possibly nudging you to consider teaching in a non-traditional location or country besides the U.S.? Christian workers indicate that the lack of quality education is one of the major reasons that families leave the field, so the need for quality, committed, passionate teachers is huge. Here’s an opportunity to witness first-hand the work of educators in two international schools in Thailand.
This trip could change your life.
You will spend two weeks visiting two Christian International Schools in Thailand; interacting with both teachers and students, with opportunities to teach classes, present in chapels, and participate in extracurricular activities. You will be introduced to the work of scripture translation. Through student contacts at the schools, you will also be introduced to the wide variety of efforts that exist beyond translation opportunities.
Beyond the school experiences, you will have a “once in a lifetime opportunity” to interact with the Thai culture - travel via public transportation, eat local food, and experience a tropical environment. Ultimately, the goal of this trip is to glorify God through our interaction with students, teachers, Christian workers and one another, while searching for God’s leading in our lives.
Prerequisites:
Education major OR accepted into the teacher education program of the school you are attending.
