GET Global 2012 - Jamaica

Experience Jamaica in a new way. Jamaica and Jamaicans have a vibrant Christian faith. In 2012 they will be celebrating their 50th birthday as a sovereign nation!

At the same time there are plans to dedicate the first Jamaican Patios New Testament.

Join this team and you will come alongside the Jamaican translation team as they add the finishing touches to their work. We hope to work alongside the team in helping to distribute the New Testaments and also collecting feedback regarding receptivity.

• Orientation: Participants begin with an exciting week of team building and preparation in Dallas, Texas.

• Field experience: The team will spend 10-14 days in Jamaica, from Kingston to Montego Bay. They will be engaged in cross-cultural activities including language learning, cultural observations and community service. They will meet the translation team in person and witness the impact of Jamaica's first mother tongue New Testament. They will work alongside Jamaican brothers and sisters in ministry.

• Debrief: The team will stay 2 days in Montego Bay reflecting on their experience and preparing to share their story with others.
