Interestingly enough, there is a technique I'm rather fond of in writing where one writes a question that is presented as a statement; however, it can be confusing without enough proper context. I wonder if there's a name for that . . . (it's something I've observed in short stories and online but rarely in a published work)
I use it in my writing whenever the character asking the question is proving a point (in a very matter-of-fact way) or otherwise already knows the answer to the question and will not negotiate that answer (such as a subtle command or threat, which is a nuance that is difficult to duplicate in writing).
