What does God smell like?

God is the maker of noses. How cool is that. The organ and sense that has the strongest memory ties, designed by God for our pleasure and to bring him glory. I wonder if God created smell because he…

Even though NextGen and Get Global will not be sending a Kenya team this year, please join me in praying for the following as we had intended to come alongside DOOR (Deaf Opportunity OutReach) with hands on help. May we continue to give them our prayerful support as they complete this building project with the help of Wycliffe Associates and others!

Indeed, I had almost the whole weekend to myself - lots of good alone time for processing! Crazy story: I was wearing my TIU t-shirt in the airport and the lady sitting next to me in the boarding area suddenly asked me what Wycliffe is. She thought they were some sort of air/space organization. When I said they do Bible translation, she said, "Oh, I'm really interested in the Bible!" We then had this animated conversation about her experiences - after her uncle died when she was 17 she didn't know what to believe for 11 years. Then she was in an accident, and in a coma, and when she woke up the doctor said she should have died. (She was very nearly decapitated.) When they left her room she knew God existed, even if she didn't know anything about him, so she set out looking for truth everywhere. Now she has 20 or so Bibles from all these different groups (Jehovah's Witness, Messianic Jews, etc. etc.) and does comparisons between them. She's interested in some crazy things, but when she got down to explaining the things she believes it seemed like she's really been finding the truth in all that. God calls people in all kinds of ways! We were going to different cities, but when both our planes started boarding she gave me a hug and her card. It was so encouraging, and strange because I almost never get into conversations with strangers. Maybe I'll wear my Wycliffe shirt more often. ;)

Hi Ms Tracy!
Thanks for your note!
I live on the island of Saipan. My parents work with Far East Broadcasting Company at their shortwave radio station here. We broadcast Christian programming to Russia, China, Vietnam and Indonesia. My dad is in charge of maintenance at the station.
Saipan is a really fun place to live. It's actually a U.S. territory, so the official language is English, but on a given day I hear about 3 to 5 other languages, too! It's always relatively hot, since we're in the tropics, so when you're used to Saipan weather, you think it's cold when the temperature is 75. (The temperature ranges between 75 and 95 normally.) There's so much else that I could say, but it would take a lot of room!
I'm excited to get to know people here!

Okay, I guess. We just got my support letters sent out. I know, it's late, we really should have gotten it done a while ago. But God made it pretty obvious that I was supposed to go on this trip, so He'll provide.
So, are you coming with our group or what's the scoop? ( haha, that rhymes! : )

Hey there Miss Tracy,
I got your message, and I am really enjoying the site. I'm almost never on the computer, but I love to receive mail.
I like your sunset picture. You might find this hard to believe, but it kinda reminds me of some of them that we get out here in Wisconsin. I live out in the middle of farm fields, so everything is flat. It makes for a pretty good view. ~Meg

Hey Tracy!
I'm doing great. I miss being out and doing stuff like JJO. The youth group is doing pretty well, we've had a lot of people graduating and a new crowd coming in. It's been kind of fun to watch people experience God's love for the first time ever. It kind of puts life into perspective.
I like the new website! I haven't really explored a whole lot, but from what I've seen of it it's really organized and "idiotproof". not that wynet wasn't, but that's what I noticed first. :P
