"All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it” (1 Corinthians 12:27, NLT).

As Wycliffe USA journeys together to better reflect the character of our Creator and Lord in how we work together, we do so with a deep sense of humility. An increasingly diverse workforce has no real chance of working well together without God’s gracious intervention in and through us. As cohorts of learners gather each month to build a common vision supported by common vocabulary, common experience, and common conviction, we are seeing evidence of transformation.

BASIC, a course designed to help increase the grace capacity within Wycliffe USA in working effectively together, is facilitated by a small but growing team, including Ruth Hubbard. “In my role as facilitator, I’m watching how intentional relationship serves as an effective and powerful tool to break down barriers and build new communities,” said Hubbard. “I’m not interested in breaking down barriers if we are not also building bridges. When we do that, we end up with a lot of rubble to trip over.”

As another cohort of BASIC gathers in Orlando today and tomorrow, will you use that event as a trigger to pray?

  • As participants gather, pray that God will transform us, so that our differences which could divide us become tools that He can use to bring us together.
  • Pray for Ruth Hubbard who gives leadership to this initiative and serves as a facilitator for the 2-day event. Pray, too, for Wendy Scott-Penson and Anita Desai who facilitate portions of the training, that God will work in and through them for His glory and to accomplish His purposes.
  • Pray that God will provide the right person to facilitate BASIC for our staff for whom Spanish is their primary language.
