Wycliffe: Next Generation

involving students in Bible Translation, short term missions and internships

“And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me” (Matthew 18:5, NLT).

Wycliffe’s children’s communications team desires to get the word out about free, interactive curricula available on the Wycliffe website* to educate, inspire and engage children in exciting, fun, age-appropriate ways to support Bible translation. The team recently conducted a workshop based on The Twenty Children’s Curriculum at Mission ConneXion Northwest in Portland, OR, on January 21. That curriculum introduces children to the top twenty countries with the highest remaining need for Bible translation, and teaches them how to pray for these countries.

  • Praise God for opportunities to share about these resources for children, including an upcoming presentation for “Career Night” at an AWANA club in Yorba Linda, CA, on February 19, 2012. Ask God to use this event to engage an even greater audience.
  • Pray for the children’s communications team as they prepare to give a workshop titled “Growing World Christians” at the Children and Youth Ministry Leadership Conference, March 19, 2012, in Murrieta, CA.
  • Pray for more opportunities to spread the word to children’s ministry leaders, Sunday school teachers, Christian school teachers and home school parents that these materials, including some in Spanish, exist.
  • Pray that these resources will impact children and encourage their involvement in Bible translation. We suspect that some of today’s children will—one day in the future—be a part of the team translating God’s Word for the very last Bibleless language group!
