“What is impossible for people is possible with God” (Luke 18:27, NLT).

In sensitive locations of the world, it can be very difficult to find people outside of the translation team to check drafted Scripture passages. (People who haven’t been involved in the process can give important feedback on the naturalness and clarity of the translation.)

A team member working on a translation in an African language writes:  “Praise for a God-given breakthrough! After years of praying, we have a willing checker. God put together all the necessary details for the books of Ruth and Jonah to be checked by a village friend. He is the only one in this language group who has ever agreed to help in this way!”

  • Praise God for His provision in this translation project, and pray that as this willing helper reads and checks the naturalness of the translated Scripture, it will go deep into his heart.
  • Lift up in prayer the untold number of translation projects that may also be searching for mother tongue speakers to review drafts of translated Scripture. Ask God to lead project coordinators to the right people.
