involving students in Bible Translation, short term missions and internships
This Saturday in Ft. Oglethorp, Georgia one of the participants from the Get Global trip to Cameroon this summer will be running a half marathon to raise money for the work of Bible translation. Laura Grace Tarpley, who was nick-named "LG" on the trip, has raised over $1000 so far on behalf of the Rutara translation project of South Asia.
Way to go, LG! It is exciting not only because God's Word is spreading among this people group, but also because a young person like Laura Grace has become an advocate on behalf of Bibleless people. Get Global played a strategic role in introducting her to the work of Bible translation and connecting her with creative ways that she can be involved. It is my prayer that in the coming days God will use Get Global to multiply the number of students engaging the ministry of Bible translation in similar ways.
